Summary

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.


Duties

This position is located in the Office of Equity and Inclusion, Chief of Police, in the United States Capitol Police (USCP). The purpose of this position is to expand the USCP's efforts to deliver effective diversity, equity, and inclusion training. The work incorporates principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion by implementing strategies to fully embed these into both policies and practices. Serves as an expert advisor of diversity, equity and inclusion learning strategies to the Chief Diversity Officer, providing expertise to ensure DEI training are knowledge and behavior-based and measurable. Works with the Chief Diversity Officer to promote the vision of a diverse, equitable and inclusive Department by providing subject matter expertise learning solutions to advance DEI internally within the workforce and through the Department programs and partnerships.


Serve as a SME to all levels of leadership and staff. Develops and/or reviews policies, strategies, and programs that may have impact to the DEI educational strategy and plan with an eye toward conceptualizing, promoting and implementing cultural transformation. Provides advice and feedback to leadership, and identify and analyze training needs, build business cases to develop customizable DEI learning programs or modify existing DEI learning programs, including diversity, equity and inclusion leadership training.


Provides interpretive, consultative, and facilitative services to Managers and staff in the areas of DEI Development. Leads the scoping, development, and implementation of the organization's short-term and long-term DEI Training Program in consultation with the Chief Diversity Officer. Creates an iterative and coherent vision and strategy for DEI training and development at USCP that takes into account the needs of different roles, teams, and groups of staff, as well as the strategic direction of the organization.
