The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) is hiring a Training Deputy Director to lead the strategy and implementation of our training program. This will include developing curriculum, managing in-person and virtual training logistics, and recruiting and vetting candidates for training programs, among other tasks.

Our training program has equipped thousands of progressive candidates to run for office, and the Training Deputy Director will be responsible for bringing our in-person training back to life in 2024.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a training calendar, taking into account larger organizational goals and other organizations training programs.
  • Raise the profile of the program, acting as a fierce, passionate advocate for our pedagogy and our results.
  • Manage staff, including assisting with the hiring process, executing weekly check in calls, monthly and position workplans, and evaluations.
  • Recruit training classes that are racially and economically diverse, as well as ideologically progressive.
  • Work with organizational leaders and movement allies to build partnerships around each training, and identify ways to bring the training to their staff, members and endorsed candidates.
  • Navigate political relationships in a savvy way, understanding the pressures faced by many allies on the state and local level, and constructively engaging within that framework.
  • Help manage sponsorships and partnerships, including ensuring that sponsor agreements are upheld and reporting back to sponsors throughout the year.
  • Work with internal and external experts to develop new training materials and make sure current training materials are up-to-date. Recruit guest trainers and ensure they’re prepped for success.
  • Ensure our curriculum constantly evolves and improves, meeting the needs of candidates, staffers and volunteers.

Salary and Hiring

This is a full-time, temporary position through November 30, 2024. The annual salary for this position is $65,000, prorated for the duration of this position. We offer a generous benefits package which includes unlimited time off and health and dental insurance. Our team is virtual, with staff around the country.

The Training Deputy Director will report to the Director of Candidate Services.
