The Corporate Responsibility (CR) department oversees the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda and initiatives by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with the firm's business strategies and operational objectives and support communities where we do business. CR includes Global Government Relations, Global Philanthropy, Sustainable Finance, and the JPMorgan Chase Institute.
The Global Engagement (GE) team, which is part of the Corporate Responsibility department, is seeking an Associate to be located in Washington, D.C., reporting to the Global Engagement Director. The Associate, Global Engagement, will serve as an internal foreign policy analyst and support programs that involve foreign markets and institutions. GE coordinates engagement with foreign governments and the diplomatic community, multilateral government organizations, trade associations, think tanks and other international policy for a to highlight and advance the firm's business priorities and other Corporate Responsibility initiatives. The team also manages the JPMorgan International Council. It works closely with the Federal and International Government Relations (GR) teams on matters related to international trade, market access, and investment issues in foreign markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring key political and economic events globally and identifying potential trouble spots and emerging trends, assimilating their impact and communicating their importance in a clear, concise, and timely manner to relevant internal audiences.
- Providing regular and timely written and oral analysis of key international events and their potential impact on the firm to internal business leaders.
- Drafting briefing papers for senior management on key international policy developments and trends.
- Working with the Corporate Responsibility team and other business units on engagement with senior government officials in response to political, business and corporate responsibility-related issues.
- Leveraging relationships with outside consultants, think tanks and other related institutions to provide support for the firm's programs.
- Providing specific regional or issue coverage for Global Engagement as assigned by Manager.
- Supporting annual GE strategy development including coordinating with senior firm leadership on government engagement priorities .
- Occasional international and domestic travel required.
Requirements:
- International Affairs experience or significant experience within the relevant official sector.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze geopolitical and economic developments globally.
- Experience managing information flows from open sources, think tanks, associations, consultants, and official channels.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Organized and focused, with sharp attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years relevant work experience.
