Voter Contact Director
Katie Porter for Congress is looking for a Voter Contact Director to join our team. The Voter Contact Director (VCD) will be in charge of the long term planning and day-to-day operations of the voter contact program. This position will work across departments to coordinate all contacts the campaign is employing across all universes including but not limited to doors, phones, relational, P2P SMS, Mass SMS, mail, and paid digital media. The VCD will be the “traffic cop” of all campaign universes, ensuring that there are no gaps or overlaps, and that the campaign is using every resource as efficiently as possible. This position will report to the Campaign Manager.
Responsibilities
● Spearhead campaign phase planning, set the tone for the trajectory of the voter contact program, and ensure that all departmental plans not only meet the topline objectives of the campaign, but that they are optimally leveraged to build off of each.
● Design and keep track of which universes the program is targeting across all channels, optimize program to reduce inefficiencies and limit gaps
● Review and interpret results of voter contact touches across channels and universes and work the Organizing Director to course correct where necessary, distribute best practices, and reevaluate campaign plans.
● Troubleshoot where pain points are when the phase plan does not line up with what’s actually happening: is it a management problem? Is it a tactical problem? Is it a universe problem? Is it a data problem?
● Aggregate program results in digestible formats for internal planning and to share with partners and stakeholders.
● Make recommendations for additional resources based on the state of play on the ground.
● Lead the development of workflows to ensure that all voter contact data across all channels is being recorded in an accurate and uniform manner.
● Manage the day to day operations of the organizing, digital, and data directors.
Skills and Qualifications
● 2+ cycles in an electoral organizing management role, or at least 1 cycle (or 1 year at a progressive organization) working directly with data, digital, and/or tech departments on field program design
● Strong interest in how voter contact channels from different departments interact with each other
● Ability to ingest and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data sets
● Understanding of PDI infrastructure and progressive digital/data tools
