HCANYS is the leading statewide association representing home care providers across NYS. Our mission is to promote and enhance the quality and accessibility for health care and support at home.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data and Research Director to lead our data analysis and research initiatives. The Director will oversee the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of healthcare data to support policy development, member services, and organizational goals and to advance quality care through data-driven insights, research and advocacy. Additionally, the position will have a principal role in some program areas.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive data and research strategy aligned with the association's mission and objectives.
· Oversee data collection, analysis and reporting processes to provide actionable insights.
· Manage research projects, including policy analysis, industry trends and healthcare performance evaluation.
· Collaborate with internal teams, member organizations, and external partners to ensure data integrity and effective data-sharing practices.
· Present research findings and data-driven reports to leadership, stakeholders and member organizations.
· Stay abreast of healthcare policy developments, industry regulations, and emerging data trends.
· Participate in HCANYS policy, regulatory, program and budget advocacy, including preparing advocacy resources and materials, as well as participating and leading meetings with state and federal staff and officials.
· Lead and collaborate on select programmatic and policy areas of HCANYS.
· Provide membership support and collaborate with staff to the work and support of HCA operations and, education and communications.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred in Data Science, Health Informatics, Public Health, or a related field.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, research, or policy analysis, preferably in the healthcare sector.
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools.
· Excellent project management and leadership capabilities.
· Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and impactful reports.
· Ability to work effectively independently and on teams.
· Knowledge of healthcare policy, reimbursement models, regulatory environments and association experience is a plus.
