Job Description
The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee is seeking a non-designated Archivist & Subcommittee Clerk to support a fast-paced Committee office. Responsibilities include leading the archiving and document management responsibilities of a large Senate committee as well as managing the hearing and personnel responsibilities of one of the committee’s subcommittees. Archiving responsibilities involve processing and accessioning the physical and digital committee record and personnel files for the National Archives, in addition to cataloging incoming reports and document productions for reference by committee staff. The ideal candidate will have formal training in archiving or library sciences, familiarity with document management software and/or Senate office management technology, must be proactive and detail-oriented, should possess strong proofreading skills, is comfortable work independently while managing competing priorities, and has a desire to work in non-partisan role.
