Campaign Manager for Heath Howard for Congress — NH-01

Heath Howard, State Representative and Democratic candidate for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, is seeking an experienced Campaign Manager to lead a dynamic, fast-paced campaign through the 2026 election cycle. As the top staff leader on the campaign, the Campaign Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and driving execution of a winning campaign plan in one of the most competitive districts in the country.

Location: Based in NH-01 (Manchester/Strafford County area); relocation support available for the right candidate


Position Type: Full-time, limited duration through Election Day 2026

Salary: $5k+ a month (we can have a discussion about this)


Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing or senior-staffing a competitive campaign (congressional, statewide, or state legislative)
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and a campaign plan under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgment and discretion in high-stakes, fast-moving situations
  • Experience with fundraising, voter file/VAN, and field program management preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers, donors, coalition partners, and the press
  • Familiarity with New Hampshire politics and NH-01 in particular a plus
  • Commitment to Heath Howard's candidacy and the values of his campaign


Responsibilities

  • Campaign Plan: Develop and execute a comprehensive campaign plan covering fundraising, field, communications, and Election Day operations.
  • Candidate Management: Manage Heath's schedule, ensuring effective use of time for fundraising calls, canvassing, endorsement meetings, and press opportunities.
  • Fundraising: Build and implement a fundraising program spanning grassroots donations, call time, PAC outreach, and events; staff the candidate on calls and at fundraisers.
  • Field Program: Design and oversee a voter contact program (canvassing, phonebanking, relational organizing) to meet ambitious contact goals.
  • Volunteer Program: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers; build a robust volunteer pipeline from local Democratic committees, unions, and grassroots networks.
  • Communications: Serve as a key point of coordination with communications staff/consultants on press strategy, digital/social media, and rapid response.
  • Compliance & Finance: Work with the Treasurer to maintain accurate records of contributions and expenditures and support FEC filings.
  • Staff & Vendor Management: Supervise campaign staff, interns, and fellows; coordinate with outside vendors and consultants (media, digital, direct mail).
