CIPE’s key program areas include Enterprise Ecosystems, Democratic Governance, Business Advocacy, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Anti-Corruption & Ethics, and Trade. 

Position: Departmental Program Assistance

Reports to: Managing Director, Learning and Donor Coordination

 

Scope: CIPE is seeking a term-limited Program Associate based in Washington, DC to provide support to Program Coordination Unit, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, and Senior Knowledge Manager in day-to-day activities. The role supports departmental leadership in performing financial, strategic, administrative, and legal tasks as required.

Responsibilities: 

  • Scheduling Project Life Cycle-driven meetings (from pre-proposal phase to the closing phase)
  • Maintaining portfolio dashboards, proposal and reporting trackers, and other monitoring platforms
  • Providing assistance to the MD in reviewing donor proposals and reports
  • Back-stopping Donor Coordination Officer in maintaining CIPE Master Tracker and Business Development Pipeline tracker
  • Updating, as needed, PCU, Knowledge Management (KM), and MEL SharePoint pages
  • Coordinating travel arrangements and logistics when needed
  • Processing payments in JAMIS
  • Maintaining relevant departmental files
  • Coordinating regular team meetings and tracking action items
  • Collaborating with all program and functional departments as necessary
  • Adhering to appropriate CIPE, National Endowment for Democracy (NED), and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce policies and procedures. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum 1-2 years of administrative office experience is beneficial, but not required
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong conceptual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, organize tasks, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, ensuring deadlines are met with attention to detail.
  • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with international objectives.
  • Flexible and able to engage with individuals at all levels with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Skilled in building strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve desired outcomes.
  • High degree of culture competence.
  • Contribute to an organization-wide culture of innovation, integrity, inclusion, and respect.

THE SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $57,000-$59,000
