Job Description
JSSA has an immediate opening for a Development Associate. This position works collaboratively with all members of the Development Team. It has three primary responsibilities: 1) the planning and execution of development’s two annual events, Stars Come Out and Family Wellness Day as well as supporting the coordination of approximately 5 additional donor stewardship, cultivation, and community events throughout the year, 2) management of the Car Contribution Campaign, and 3) manage and oversee the Scholarship Program.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Stars Come Out and Family Wellness Day to include development of and adherence to event timeline, working with all vendors, mailing of Save-the-Date, invitations and managing RSVPs.
- Track event budgets, invoices, revenue, and expenses to ensure events meet their financial goals.
- Work with development team to develop sponsorship materials including donor recognition and timely donation acknowledgements.
- Work with the Marketing Department to ensure timely execution of all printed materials such as invitations, save the date cards, event signage, and speeches.
- Support the Gift Officers by project managing the logistics of donor stewardship, cultivation, and community engagement events throughout the year.
Car Contribution Campaign
- Handle the logistics of JSSA’s charitable vehicle donation program to include all communication with donors, processing the necessary title paperwork and interacting with auction house to manage the pickup and sale of donated vehicles.
- Update the database with the necessary information and complete all necessary communications with the donor
Scholarship Program - Manage all aspects of JSSA’s Scholarship program to include:
- Updating the website each year to ensure requirements for each scholarship is up to date and all the necessary rules and deadlines are noted.
- As applications are being submitted, each application is reviewed to ensure it is complete.
- Coordinate with accounting to ensure timely payment of scholarships and
- Assemble all applications and prepare materials to support the Scholarship Review Committee’s selection of applicants to receive scholarships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of nonprofit development experience including event management experience.
- Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated team player who can also work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented.
- Commitment to accountability and execution.
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
- High proficiency in a Microsoft Office suite of products is required. Experience with data management systems is strongly preferred.

Salary range is $60,000-$85,000 based on experience
