Status: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

Schedule: Four 10-hour days, Monday–Thursday

Reports To: Director of Development

Position Summary

Monument Crisis Center is seeking a talented and highly organized Development Manager to join our team and help advance our fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach efforts.

Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the Development Manager will play a key role in supporting and implementing the organization’s development strategy, with a significant emphasis on fundraising events, donor communications, sponsorships, and written fundraising materials.

This position is ideal for a strong writer and relationship-builder who enjoys managing events, coordinating multiple projects, and helping connect donors and community partners to a meaningful mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events in partnership with the Director of Development, including timelines, logistics, sponsorships, vendors, volunteers, guest communications, and post-event follow-up.
  • Develop compelling sponsorship materials, solicitation letters, donor appeals, invitations, event programs, newsletters, and other fundraising communications.
  • Support donor cultivation, stewardship, recognition, and engagement activities.
  • Write and edit high-quality development materials that communicate Monument Crisis Center’s mission, programs, impact, and funding needs.
  • Assist with grant research, proposals, reports, and supporting materials.
  • Help identify and cultivate prospective individual, corporate, foundation, and community supporters.
  • Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records in the organization’s donor database/CRM system.
  • Track event revenue, sponsorships, donations, expenses, deadlines, and fundraising results.
  • Work collaboratively with program and finance staff to gather stories, outcomes, budgets, and other information needed for fundraising materials.
  • Support annual appeals, campaigns, special initiatives, and other development projects.
  • Represent Monument Crisis Center professionally at donor meetings, fundraising events, and community functions.
  • Provide additional support to the Director of Development and assist with other development priorities as needed.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who is creative, organized, collaborative, and comfortable managing both relationships and details.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills are required.
  • Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, event planning, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong event planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Professional communication skills with donors, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and related technology preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.

A combination of education and relevant professional experience demonstrating the skills necessary to successfully perform the position will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $75,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience (DOE).
