The Boston Arts Academy Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization established in 1999 to support Boston Arts Academy, the city’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts. The Foundation bridges the annual funding gap between the Boston Public Schools’ allocation and the actual cost of providing a high-quality, arts-intensive, and college preparatory education. It secures vital support from foundations, corporations, and individual donors to ensure the school can deliver a comprehensive arts and academic curriculum.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Brookline, MA. The Director of Annual Giving will lead the strategy and execution of the organization’s annual giving programs, including cultivating relationships with alumni, implementing annual fund initiatives, and engaging donors in philanthropy efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing annual appeals, planning and executing annual giving campaigns, managing donor relations, and collaborating with the development team to meet fundraising goals. The Director will also identify opportunities for growing support through planned giving initiatives to sustain long-term fundraising success.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Annual Giving and Annual Fund campaign management
- Strong skills in Alumni Relations and maintaining meaningful relationships with donors
- Experience in Planned Giving and knowledge of philanthropy strategies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies and meet financial goals
- Organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple projects effectively
- Familiarity with CRM tools and donor management systems
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or CFRE certification is a plus
- Past experience in non-profit or arts-focused organizations is preferred
