Morgan McGarvey for Congress is seeking a full-time Finance Director. This position will be based in Louisville, Kentucky. The Finance Director is responsible for raising the campaign’s budget and managing the Finance Department. Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute comprehensive finance plan, including cash flow, monthly/quarterly/cycle projections, and overseeing all aspects of the finance operation
- Hire, train, and supervise finance staff, interns, and volunteers
- Communicate with Candidate and Campaign Manager on all aspects of finance operation
- Send out thank you letters on a weekly basis, minimally
- Works closely with the campaign’s compliance firm to process and track donations and ensure compliance with campaign finance laws.
- Responsible for developing systems and processes that maximize all revenue streams (call time, events, digital, PAC, mail, finance committees/raisers and new donor prospecting)
- Chase outstanding large pledges
- Staffs the candidate at fundraising events and donor meetings
- Process contributions daily; code checks, prepare deposits, enter into database; maintain quality controls
- Assist Finance Consultant with PAC and Member fundraising
- Assist with endorsements of major PACs, organizations, and individuals and maximize fundraising potential from all endorsements
- Manage fundraising vendors and contracts
- Oversee digital fundraising operations
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 full cycle of campaign finance experience on a Congressional race or larger
- Experience managing candidate call time and planning high-dollar fundraising events.
- Proficiency with NGP, ActBlue, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive.
- Strong knowledge of campaign finance law and FEC reporting requirements.
- Experience hiring and managing staff
- Ability to balance between competing tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, car, laptop, cell phone.
- Exceptionally well organized with intense attention to detail and process
- Highly communicative with strong time management skills to meet competing deadlines

- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from many backgrounds
Salary
Salary range for this position is $6500 - $7500 per month with 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance. This role is based in person in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a management position that reports directly to the Campaign Manager.
