The Amalgamated Foundation is hiring a Grants Manager to join its team.
The Grants Manager will be responsible for the administration and management of the Foundation’s grant distribution activity. This position is critical to the daily operation, risk, and reputation of the Foundation and will report to the Director of Grantmaking, Partnerships, Products, & Services. The Grants Manager will employ a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and refinement of grant management processes, systems, reporting and functions that drive the grants program's efficiency.
A successful candidate will be highly organized and self-disciplined who is able to effectively work with agility and focus within a growing philanthropic financial enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as primary grants administrator for our Donor Advised and Combined Impact Funds, distributing a high volume of grants. Ensure timely and accurate distribution of funds.
- Improve the speed and frequency of grant distributions, including transition to only electronic payments.
- Process grant payments and provide follow up support and communication to partner grantees.
- Manages a diverse portfolio of grants, collaborating with grantees and internal teams, and ensuring compliance with Foundation policies and other regulations. Work closely with various internal teams to ensure that grantees have a seamless experience.
- Responsible for day-to-day grants management using, iPhi, ACF’s grant management platform. Update and maintain data, including but not limited to organizational data, people/contact information, affiliation/name changes and grants history.
- Serve as Super User for the grant management platform. Act as a relationship manager with technology vendors to resolve issues, improve data hygiene, and support reporting. Support configuration of grants management system, including design, creation, maintenance of forms and workflows, external portal and internal dashboards, grantmaking budgets and process documentation.
- Participate in projects to evolve our processes, offerings, and technologies. Drive ongoing system improvements and proactively identify opportunities to streamline and simplify technology-enabled processes.
- Implement impactful processes, checks and balances to ensure data integrity, and provide data analysis for efficient, timely, and high-quality reporting. Able to synthesize and present data.
- Expand grants management and user experience in DonorView, ACF’s online grant portal
- Support administrative requests for data from other departments as necessary
- Create, maintain, and iterate a grants administration procedure manual.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for grantees, overseeing the entire grant lifecycle from award notification to project closure.
- Research and stay informed of new initiatives, compliance requirements and software solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience within a non-profit organization in an operations and client service facing capacity.
- Demonstrated knowledge and comprehension of Donor Advised Fund compliance and IRS regulations.
- Demonstrated experience and comfort working with data and has a very high attention to detail.
- Comfort with high volume, large dollar transactions, and managing risk.
- Ability to navigate and manage system and processes independently, efficiently, and effectively
- Strong database skills, experience with Airtable a plus.
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills across multiple media.
- Strong client service skills: responsive, able to problem-solve, and when necessary, escalate issues and questions.

Salary & Benefits
The starting salary for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 and will be commensurate with experience. This position will be remotely based with domestic travel, as needed, including our bi-annual retreats.
