Individual Giving & Membership Manager

Reports To: Director of Development

Salary: $54,000 annually, full-time with benefits

Location: Baltimore, MD

Position Overview

Creative Alliance seeks a dynamic, relationship-driven Individual Giving & Membership Manager to strengthen and grow support from members and individual donors. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position plays a key role in sustaining and expanding Creative Alliance’s vibrant community of supporters through engaging stewardship, creative campaigns, and personalized donor experiences. Some evening and weekends will be required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow membership and annual giving at all levels
  • Manage renewal, acquisition, and upgrade campaigns for members and small donors.
  • Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with donors through newsletters, impact updates, and exclusive member experiences.
  • Partner with the marketing team to ensure cohesive messaging and visibility of membership benefits across digital, print, and event platforms.
  • Analyze giving trends and membership data to identify opportunities for growth and improved retention.
  • Oversee the acknowledgment process for all individual gifts, ensuring timely, accurate, and personalized communication.
  • Coordinate member and donor recognition at events and in publications.
  • Plan and execute member-focused engagement opportunities, such as behind-the-scenes tours, receptions, and preview nights.
  • Work closely with the box office and Patron Manager system to ensure accurate tracking of giving and membership activity.
  • Support the Director of Development with annual appeals, targeted mini-campaigns, and the Marquee Ball’s giving drive.
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to align fundraising efforts with programming and community engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain and execute the process of CITC tax credits applications and approvals with the donors and reporting to the state.
  • Assist in identifying and cultivating potential mid-level donors for future major giving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate donor and member records in Patron Manager, ensuring data integrity and consistent reporting.
  • Track membership renewals, lapses, and upgrades; produce regular progress reports and donor segmentation lists.
  • Contribute to the preparation of development reports and dashboards for internal use.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or membership management.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, membership, or customer relationship management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort with donor databases (Patron Manager or Salesforce experience preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Enthusiasm for the arts, community engagement, and Creative Alliance’s mission.
Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time position with a salary of $54,000 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and access to all Creative Alliance events and programs.
