Job Description
Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies (CPS), a bipartisan government relations firm, is seeking a health care legislative analyst for our Washington D.C. office with a demonstrated interest in government affairs and public policy. We are looking for a hard-working self-starter to assist our government relations professionals with daily media, event, and issue monitoring, legislative tracking, congressional hearing analysis, compilation of issue backgrounders, special projects, and other general team assistance as needed. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production of research documents and issue backgrounders, pulled from public documents, news sources, and subscription services - both for existing clients and new business initiatives
- Monitoring news coverage of current events and issues pertinent to the client base
- Producing high quality memos and newsletters for clients
- Legislative and regulatory tracking and analysis at the federal, state, and local level
- Analyzing and interpreting budget proposals at all levels of government
- Supervising interns
- Providing general team assistance, as needed
- Ability to work seamlessly across Public Strategies offices and develop relationships with CPS government relations professionals and staff
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in policy research and legislative tracking
- Strong understanding of local, regional, and national politics and current events
- Strong writing and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work well under pressure with competing deadlines and priorities
- A self-starter with the ability to anticipate needs before they arise, think analytically, and tackle big projects thoughtfully
- Bachelor's degree required, 2026 grads welcome to apply
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
