Job Description
The Washington, D.C. Office of Congresswoman Analilia Mejia (NJ-11) is now accepting applications for paid legislative and communications internships for the Spring 2027 term. This internship is a great opportunity for individuals who seek to gain public service experience and insight into Capitol Hill.
Applicants should note that the legislative and communications internships are separate positions.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Legislative Internship
- Taking calls from the district and supporting constituent needs.
- Attending stakeholder and constituent meetings.
- Leading tours of the Capital complex for constituents.
- Writing memos and conducting legislative research.
- Drafting constituent correspondence.
- Attending congressional hearings and briefings.
- Greeting office guests, constituents, and stakeholders.
- Assisting with daily office operations, including running errands and processing mail.
Communications Internship
- Drafting talking points, press releases, remarks and other written materials.
- Editing graphics and videos.
- Compiling daily news clips.
- Assisting with daily office operations, including running errands.
We are looking for candidates with an eagerness to learn, customer service skills, and strong writing skills. Start and end dates are flexible. NJ-11 ties and service industry experience are pluses.
