About Workplace Justice Lab @Rutgers University
- We focus on actually ENFORCING progressive policy wins! Our Beyond the Bill program works with local, state, and federal labor agencies to significantly shift their approach to labor law enforcement. Our goal is to raise job quality across low wage, high exploitation sectors and promote co-enforcement and support for organizing as a central mechanism through which agencies can achieve compliance and workers can win just wages and conditions.
- We lead cutting edge research projects on labor violations by geographic area, race, ethnicity, gender and much more. We offer customized state and local strategic enforcement research, training, in-depth planning and technical assistance, and we design and facilitate strong collaborations between agencies and worker justice organizations.
- Our ground-breaking Build the Base, Grow the Movement training and coaching program supports learning and experimentation around a distributed organizing model for worker justice organizations to expand their membership bases and grow their leadership teams.
- We convene powerful communities of practice among government agencies interested in strategic enforcement and also among organizing groups interested in thinking together about how to leverage labor policy and enforcement structures at the local and state level to build worker power and organization.
