Company Description The Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP) is dedicated to promoting the health of Georgia’s citizens by advancing the specialty of Family Medicine. GAFP focuses on education, advocacy, and service to support family physician members across the state. Its membership includes active family physicians, residents, and medical students committed to the future of Family Medicine.

Position Summary

The Membership & Workforce Development Coordinator supports the growth, engagement, and retention of members across all career stages within the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP). This position focuses on strengthening the family medicine workforce pipeline by building relationships with medical students, resident physicians, practicing physicians, and partner organizations throughout Georgia.

This role coordinates membership recruitment and retention efforts, workforce development initiatives, leadership programs, communications, and events that support family physicians and the future of family medicine. Key responsibilities include:


Membership Engagement & Retention

  • Coordinate membership recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives for physicians, residents, and medical students.
  • Develop member communications including email campaigns, renewal outreach, and engagement efforts.
  • Respond to member inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop strategies to increase member engagement and participation in Academy programs and events.
  • Track membership trends and prepare reports for leadership and staff.


Workforce Development

  • Coordinate programs and initiatives that support the family medicine workforce pipeline in Georgia.
  • Build and maintain relationships with residency programs, medical schools, and student organizations.
  • Coordinate workforce-focused events, leadership development programs, mentoring opportunities, and career resources.
  • Collaborate with external partners, healthcare organizations, and stakeholders on workforce initiatives.

 

Event & Program Support

  • Assist with planning and execution of conferences, CME meetings, leadership programs, and member engagement events.
  • Coordinate registration, communications, logistics, and attendee support for assigned programs.


Communications & Outreach

  • Develop promotional materials, newsletters, and social media content related to membership and workforce programs.
  • Represent GAFP professionally at meetings, conferences, and outreach events.
  • Promote the mission and value of family medicine throughout Georgia.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years experience in a related field. (Healthcare or Non-profit sector is a plus)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Previous experience with association management or CRM software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $60,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Benefits: Health insurance, matching 401(k), paid time off
  • Work Schedule: Hybrid (office-based in Tucker, GA, with some flexibility for remote work)
