Program: Genesis Homes | 330 Hinsdale Street, Brooklyn, NY 11207 

Position Overview: 

The Program Assistant will provide administrative support to the clinical staff and help ensure the program runs smoothly by working closely with the Director of Supportive Housing and Assistant Director of Supportive Housing, as well as others on the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Providing support for ongoing and special projects and assisting in preparing data collection for quarterly monthly reports.
  • Answering phones and scheduling meetings, trainings, and interviews.
  • Coordinating student intern schedules.
  • Assisting with new hire paperwork, payroll, petty cash, and maintenance of program inventory, which includes placing orders in the Lawson system.
  • Assisting with the creation of promotional materials, outreach letters, and other informational mailings.
  • Assisting with the creation, editing, and dissemination of program forms.
  • Scheduling events and participating in program outreach efforts to community-based organizations to increase access to services for residents.
  • Coordinating skill-building workshops with the residents in the building.
  • Assist the Director of Supportive Housing/and the Assistant Director of Supportive Housing with tenant eligibility when filling unit vacancies.

Required Skills/Knowledge: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (with a higher education level, even better).
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to enable successful management of multiple tasks in a timely manner in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Ability to take the initiative, be dependable and resourceful, and pay keen attention to detail.
  • Tech-savvy and experienced with data collection, tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong verbal, writing, and negotiation skills.

Compensation

Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
