If so, consider being the Program Associate, Strategic Partnerships Advocacy and Voice (SPAV) for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy, and Voice (SPAV) team, reporting to the Chief of Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy, and Voice.
The Program Associate will play a key role in supporting the Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy, and Voice department by assisting with community engagement, general administration of the Department’s two branches, and event coordination. This role will support efforts to cultivate partnerships, mobilize advocacy campaigns, and ensure that community perspectives inform our work.

What You Would Be Accountable for:
The Program Associate, SPAV will be responsible for the following key pieces of work:
Supporting the implementation of community engagement strategies
Coordinating logistics for events, advocacy training, and meetings
Assisting the department in invoicing, reimbursements, and other administrative duties.
Supporting partnership development with community-based organizations and faith-based groups
The Program Associate will receive mentorship and coaching from senior staff and will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance food security efforts across San Francisco and Marin.
What You Would Be Doing Right Now:
Support community engagement efforts, including facilitating meetings, coordinating outreach, and building relationships with community leaders.
Coordinate logistics for advocacy trainings, convenings, and community engagement events.
Support the development of materials such as fact sheets, social media content, and policy briefs to support advocacy and partnership initiatives.
Represent SFMFB at external meetings, coalitions, and public events as needed.
Support data collection for program evaluation and reporting.
Administrative coordination with internal and external entities.
Other duties as assigned.
What Else You Should Know:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, or government agencies preferred.
Background in public policy, social work, public health, or a related field preferred.
Experience coordinating events, meetings, or trainings is a plus.
Lived experience with food insecurity or economic hardship is valued.
Bilingual skills a plus.
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Requires flexibility in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Involves both independent work and collaboration across teams.
Includes regular interaction with community partners, government agencies, and advocacy groups.
Understanding of food insecurity, social justice, and public policy.
Experience with community engagement, organizing, or advocacy work a plus.
Strong ability to analyze information, synthesize key points, and communicate effectively.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong writing and public speaking skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.

POSITION COVERD BY OPEIU LOCAL 29 BARGAINING UNIT.
SALARY The position is full-time non-exempt. The starting salary for this position ranges from $28.35-29.23, with exact salary depending on experience.
