Job Overview
The position of Program Manager supports the Tech & Public Policy (TPP) program at the McCourt School of Public Policy. The Program Manager primarily assists the Director in building and implementing TPP’s programs from strategy and development to administration. This position works closely with faculty, students, staff and other stakeholders at Georgetown and beyond to ensure effective and efficient implementation of TPP programs.
Duties of the Program Manager will include but are not limited to:

Overall program strategy, planning, development, administration, and execution for the following initiatives (and other programs as they are developed):

TPP Grants

TPP Scholars
-
TPP Student Fellows
-
TPP Non-Resident Fellows

AI Policy Lab

Support all TPP programs and events in coordination and collaboration with McCourt School Communications and Events teams.

Manage outreach to faculty, students, staff and other TPP stakeholders.

Manage scheduling, calendars, and meetings.

Provide ongoing project tracking and resource management.
The Tech & Public Policy Program at the McCourt School of Public Policy works to shape technology’s promise for a better world. Tech & Public Policy catalyzes cross-disciplinary research, supports emerging tech and policy leaders, and convenes experts and policymakers to address the challenges and opportunities posed by our ever-evolving digital society.
Work Interactions
It’s an exciting and dynamic time to join the TPP team. The Program Manager will work closely with the director, student support such as a graduate assistant, and events and communications staff to support TPP’s year-old and newly launched programming. The Program Manager will be asked to perform a variety of roles, from scheduling meetings with Georgetown faculty and interviewing student applicants to tracking emerging tech policy and hosting a new TPP podcast. The Program Manager should be highly organized, and should be comfortable working on multiple project streams at any given time. This position may include occasional travel within the United States and abroad.

Requirements and Qualifications
-
Master’s degree (or a graduate level degree in progress) and 2 or more years of experience required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Demonstrate a background in technology policy and an interest in advancing social justice through technology and public policy.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
-
Comfortable managing multiple project streams.
-
Highly organized, self-motivated, collaborative and passionate about being part of a movement to drive meaningful impact in policy through innovative projects that are as bold and inventive as the technology they address.

Experience working in an tech policy NGO or government agency, on the Hill or tech company is preferable.

Knowledge of emerging technologies, digital products and services helpful but not necessary.

5-8 years of experience working in a similar capacity.
