DoorDash’s Public Policy & Social Impact Team supports our commitment to bring positive change to the communities we serve. This unique team combines direct engagement with policymakers at all levels of government, advocacy campaigns, policy research and analysis, and programs to promote equity, safety, and sustainability. Together we strive to achieve policy outcomes that positively impact our business, as well as the lives and livelihoods of Dashers, merchants, and consumers. 

DoorDash is hiring an experienced organizer and political strategist to join our Public Engagement team. Reporting to the Head of U.S. Public Engagement, the Public Engagement Manager-New England will engage Dashers, merchants, and third-party organizations to build relationships with members of our diverse community across New England. You will build grassroots and grasstops relationships, manage industry coalitions, and design public engagement strategies in close coordination with the Government Relations, Social Impact, and Policy Development teams. Additionally, you’ll work with the Communications, Legal, and Marketing teams.

  • Coordinate DoorDash’s grassroots engagement strategy at the local, state, and federal levels throughout New England.
  • Lead DoorDash’s outreach to our broad and diverse community in the New England region, including Dashers, small businesses, customers, and third party organizations to further our public policy objectives.
  • Build a diverse coalition of supporters by managing relationships with local nonprofits and community organizations in DoorDash’s markets.
  • Manage DoorDash and industry coalitions throughout New England. 
  • Recruit and train activists to serve as advocates in meetings and hearings with lawmakers, regulators and the media. 

We’re excited about you because you…

  • Are a seasoned organizer and strategist with at least 5 years’ experience and a proven track record in political campaigns, agency or corporate organizing experience, or experience in an elected officials office at the federal, state or local level.
  • Have experience recruiting and remotely managing staff and volunteers.
  • Are a strong communicator who is effective in both one-on-one and group and town hall style settings.
  • Possess the ability to build strong and sustained relationships with a diverse range of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bring successful past experience organizing and working in New England markets.
  • In-house corporate experience preferred
  • Experience in the tech industry, particularly the on-demand economy, preferred
