Position Details

  • FTE: 1.0 (position is grant funded through June 30, 2029, with the potential of being extended).
  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $68,000.
  • Fully remote position (no office space available).
  • Full time: 35 hours per week.

  • NAPCRG (North American Primary Care Research Group) Deputy Director (Leyla Haddad, MBA).
  • Lead Champion for Implementation of National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research (Irfan Asif, MD).

Position Summary:
The Project Manager oversees the continued implementation of the fifteen objectives in the strategic plan through organizing champions into working groups, ensuring regular meetings, and establishing work plans, outcomes, and metrics. Coordination with leaders of NAPCRG, ADFM, ABFM, Society for Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD), and other Family Medicine organizations will be essential. The Project Manager also coordinates with the Lead Champion for Implementation, the National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research Leadership Committee (representing five key organizations), and a broader committee consisting of the leads for the plan’s 15 objectives.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the continued implementation of the National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research.
  • Create and manage project timelines and track results.
  • Ensure the completion of key activities and performance indicators for each objective.
  • Coordinates and convenes National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research meetings, including committee meetings to review objectives for alignment and collaboration (at least twice annually) and quarterly leadership meetings to monitor current activities, identify collaborations, and plan next steps.
  • Hold regular one-on-one check-in meetings with leads of the fifteen objectives to establish work plans, outcomes, and metrics.
  • Lead and coordinate all communications for the National Family Medicine Strategic Plan for Research, including oversight of LinkedIn and other social media content, newsletters, and member engagement platforms (e.g., NAPCRG Connect). Working in partnership with the NAPCRG Communications Lead, this role coordinates website updates and broader NAPCRG communications, with the expectation of assuming increasing responsibility for website content, updates, and growth over time. The role also facilitates clear, consistent communication among leaders and members of partner organizations and government agencies, including NAPCRG, ADFM, ABFM, STFM, the National Institutes of Health, DARTNet Institute, the Primary Care Collaborative, and others.
  • Meet regularly with the Lead Champion for Implementation, Dr. Irfan Asif.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of scholarly products (including abstracts, poster presentations, and publications) that communicate strategic plan implementation, outcomes, and impact.
  • Provide regular written, and possible verbal, updates to:
    • The NAPCRG Board of Directors.
    • The ADFM Board of Directors.
    • The Family Medicine Leadership Committee (at least twice a year).
    • The ABFM Foundation (quarterly and annually to support the grant).
  • Support the planning and execution of a second Family Medicine Research Summit before 2030.
  • Support NAPCRG’s strategic priorities as needed.

Other:

  • Participate in weekly virtual team meetings to support communication, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Participate in bi-monthly virtual Executive Committee meetings as required.
  • Travel occasionally, including overnight travel, averaging approximately 2–3 weeks total per year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals.

Education

  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelors in a health-related field, social work, or nonprofit leadership, with an interest in primary care or other health-related research.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or relevant experience in public health, health services research, nonprofit management, or a related field.

Screening Competencies
Demonstrated experience and interest in Family Medicine, research, or related topics are preferred.
