Job Description
At Road to Hire (R2H), we are committed to interrupting cycles of intergenerational poverty and promoting racial justice by creating robust diverse talent pipelines for employers committed to inclusive workforces.
The R2H Learning team develops and delivers a high-quality curriculum including experiential learning to ensure our students are prepared to thrive in higher education and professional environments. This team also owns curriculum and training for employer partners, R2H staff, and volunteers. This means constantly iterating, getting better and incorporating feedback to better the programs. Curriculum and instruction are R2H’s product and getting it right is crucial to ensure each student has a path to economic justice.
With that in mind, we are actively recruiting a Learning and Development Leader to join Road to hire. This role will lead the development of a comprehensive curriculum that supports R2H’s mission.
Our preference is for a full-time staff member to lead this work; however, we are open to someone who is looking for project/contract based work.
Covid 19 Vaccine Requirement: Unless otherwise prohibited by law, if a candidate is successful and a conditional job offer is made, the candidate then will be required to submit proof of a full vaccination series against COVID-19. Requests for reasonable accommodations on the basis of disability, pregnancy status, or religious belief will be considered on an individualized basis.
What You’ll Do:
- Iterate, audit, and develop Road to Hire’s curriculum geared towards developing students, R2H staff, employer partners, and volunteers
- A curriculum that is:
- Comprehensive – professional skills including leadership, management, technical skills and personal/interpersonal skills
- Multi-audience - able to design for corporate audiences, young adults, staff and volunteers
- Multi-Channel – experiential, classroom and online/on demand
- Timely – in response to or in anticipation of most critical organizational needs and priorities, and in a culture where speed trumps perfection
- Relevant – up-to-date and compatible with Road to Hire’s mission and culture
- Equitable, inclusive, and unbiased - for all in R2H’s programs.
- Partner closely with other Programming teams to ensure the curriculum is aligned/integrated with strategic goals
- Develop and drive relevant metrics that produce useful insights to guide our learning strategies and priorities
- Lead and coach instructors on the Road to Hire team
What We’re Looking For:
- An experienced Learning and Development leader with 5+ years in Curriculum Development, Design, Delivery, Facilitation and Management
- Masterful at communications and Change Management, and the ability to learn about R2H and our culture, and then lead us on the journey of creating structure and process
- A Leader AND a Doer
- A collaborative team player and partner that is also comfortable working autonomously
- Comfort in a fast-paced and often changing environment
- An inspirational coach and role model - experience coaching others through the implementation of learning content
- Strategic thinker able to quickly identify the needs of a class and adapt curriculum/trainings to fit those needs
- Motivated by the opportunity to develop and create opportunities for under-resourced young adults in our community and passionate about DEI.
- This role does require proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series
