Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, Media Relations
***This role is based at our corporate office in McLean, VA, but may be open to Hybrid/Remote***
Love the thrill of scoring an earned media placement? Get excited about drafting a potential reader for broadcast? This is your chance to be part of Hilton's in-house Global Corporate Affairs team. As a Senior Manager, Media Relations, reporting to the Director, Media Relations, you will help build media relationships to keep Hilton top of mind for ongoing business and industry stories. With a connection to the corporate, consumer and commercial communications teams, the Senior Manager, Media Relations, will create and execute proactive storylines that showcase Hilton's commitment to growth, reinforce our award-winning workplace culture, and position Hilton as a leader in innovation. You will also serve as a consultant to other communications functions, providing counsel on media strategy and engagement.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Build and execute a media strategy that highlight Hilton as a leader of industry and innovation via earned and owned media.
- Mine for stories that reinforce our commitment to growth, innovation and culture.
- Engage directly with reporters and work with agency partners and Hilton colleagues in growing media engagement and results.
How you will collaborate with others:
- Create an editorial calendar for storytelling that highlights storylines across growth, innovation and culture.
- Work with the director of media relations to build a pitch strategy against publication editorial calendars, including top-tier events, and measure results.
- Develop new journalist and editor relationships at top-tier business and broadcast outlets.
- Be a consultant for enterprise communications needs, ensuring messaging aligns with Hilton's broader enterprise strategy and that enterprise stories can be brought to life globally, working with the global Consumer and Commercial communications team.
- Coordinate integrated owned storytelling efforts including external, social and internal content.
- Coordinate with regional communications teams to elevate regional stories globally and vice versa to support Hilton's global communications narrative.
What projects you will take ownership of:
- Ideate, pitch and produce top-tier and long-lead stories that position the Hilton enterprise as a leader of industry across innovation, growth and culture.
- Identify and build relationships with target media.
- Be a trusted advisor on external communications to senior Hilton stakeholders and liaison to internal partners.
WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT
You have these minimum qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of work experience in Communications or Journalism.
- You have collaborated in a matrix organization in a global business environment.
- You have a strong network of media relationships across online, print and broadcast outlets.
- You are experienced in implementing and measuring communications strategies.
- Travel up to 20% of the time.
It would be useful if you have:
- BA/BS bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or related field.
- Large global organization or top-tier communications agency experience.
- Previous experience as a working journalist and/or political communications.
- Hospitality industry experience.
