Job Description

Longwell Partners is a full-service communications firm specializing in high-profile political advocacy. We are seeking a creative, politically-engaged Video Editor to drive our post-production efforts on major projects like Home of the Brave and the Republican Accountability Project.

If you are a fast, sharp editor who follows politics closely, thinks in narratives, and wants your work to matter in the real world, this role is for you.

About the Role

As our newest video hire, you will join our in-house video team and work closely with our political communications strategists and social media team. You should bring strong editorial instincts and the ability to turn complex political moments into clear, compelling, social-first video.

Your Responsibilities

  • Transform scripts and messaging guidelines from our communications teams into visually compelling stories that align with project messaging.
  • Edit political ads and narratives for various formats, optimizing pacing and aspect ratios for everything from TV/web to TikTok/Reels.
  • Expertly cut down long-form interviews (1.5+ hours) into tight, narrative-driven 8-12 minute videos as well as distinct social clips.
  • Monitor the daily news cycle to rapidly source footage and produce timely, relevant content that stops the scroll.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional video editing or production experience
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Ability to source news footage, clean and mix dialogue, and color-correct for web and social
  • Strong familiarity with vertical video formats and performance trends
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Physical production experience (filming, lighting, camera operation) is a strong plus
  • Ability to be in our office (downtown DC) five days a week; this is not a remote or hybrid role

Why Join Us

  • Base salary range: $60,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experience
  • 401(k) matching program
  • 100% covered medical insurance
  • Metro-accessible, downtown DC location
  • Opportunities to learn, innovate, and grow within a mission-driven, high-performance team
