Job Description

🌍 About Hilde B

At the Hilde B Foundation, we believe the most dangerous forms of violence are often the least visible.

They don’t always leave bruises.

They don’t always get reported.

And too often, they are misunderstood—even by those closest to the victim.

We are building a global, volunteer-powered movement to recognize, document, and prevent domestic violence in all its forms—from subtle coercion to physical abuse.

Our work sits at the intersection of technology, education, and policy.

Our strength comes from people who care enough to act—and think critically about how change happens.

⸻

🎯 Why This Role Exists

We are expanding our East Coast presence, with a particular focus on Boston’s unique ecosystem of universities, research institutions, and policy engagement.

This role helps strengthen real-time collaboration across time zones, especially with leadership in Brazil, while building local momentum through thoughtful outreach and content.

⸻

🚀 What You’ll Do

This is not a passive volunteer role.

You will contribute to a coordinated effort to change how society understands and responds to abuse—grounded in both empathy and evidence.

Depending on your strengths, you may:

• Support outreach across universities, campuses, and local communities

• Help create educational and research-informed content (social, campaigns, explainers)

• Assist with multilingual expansion to increase accessibility

• Contribute to policy and advocacy efforts, including drafting support letters

• Collaborate on survivor-centered tools and reporting systems

• Help grow and connect a global, mission-driven volunteer network

⸻

🧠 Who You Are

You don’t need to be an expert in domestic violence.

What matters most is that you:

• Care deeply about justice, safety, and human dignity

• Are thoughtful, reliable, and able to engage with sensitive topics responsibly

• Bring intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn

• Communicate clearly (written or verbal)

• Can commit a few hours per week consistently

• Are based in—or aligned with—East Coast / Americas time zones

⸻

🎓 Backgrounds We Value

We especially welcome individuals with experience or interest in:

• Law, public policy, psychology, education, or social work

• Research, writing, or academic environments

• Content creation, design, or social media

• Advocacy, nonprofit work, or community organizing

• Languages and international collaboration
