Summary
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) is a component within the Executive Office of the President that helps Federal departments and agencies implement the commitments and priorities of the President. USTR is seeking candidates for a Trade Enforcement Analyst (Quantitative) position within the Interagency Center for Trade Implementation, Monitoring and Enforcement.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert quantitative, industry and subsidies research and analytical support to the Center, its Director and senior staff related to trade implementation, enforcement, and monitoring.
As a Trade Enforcement Analyst (Quantitative), GS-0301-13/14, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Research and analyze a variety of trade information regarding subsidies and various types of government support offered to foreign business enterprises and industries.
Extract and summarize pertinent trade, economic and financial data from a variety of sources including but not limited to: Bloomberg, Global Trade Atlas and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
Research and analyze foreign countries' trade-related legislation, regulations and policies and economic and trade data.
Using a variety of software, gather and arrange evidence and other materials for dispute settlement proceedings and enforcement negotiations.
Develop and lead research plans and identify appropriate information resources to complete assigned projects. Take initiative to implement the plan, including within the interagency.
