Job Description
Representative Robin Kelly seeks a Health Policy Advisor to lead the Congresswoman’s work as a member of the Energy & Commerce Committee and as Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust Chair. Qualified candidates will work in a busy office to further the Congresswoman’s leadership in health policy. Responsibilities include managing fellows, preparing the Congresswoman for Committee hearings; developing and planning legislative initiatives; monitoring legislative developments in-portfolio within committees and on the House floor; planning and organizing briefings and other events; and other assigned tasks. This position will report to the Legislative Director and work closely with the Chief of Staff and Communications Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A demonstrated knowledge of legislative process and of House organization and procedures,
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines,
- Self-starter with good political instincts and judgment,
- Strong writing, interpersonal, self-motivation, and organizational skills are a must,
- Graduate or Law Degree preferred,
- Illinois or Midwestern ties are a plus.
This is not an introductory level position, at least 4 years of experience required.
