Senator Cantwell, a senior member of the Committee on Energy & Natural Resources, seeks an experienced policy staffer to manage her office’s energy and environment portfolio. As the position entails working for one of the Senate’s leading champions for clean energy, outdoor recreation, and addressing the climate crisis, qualified candidates must possess an extensive knowledge of related policy areas and the demonstrated ability to make progress on the Senator’s priorities using excellent written and verbal communication skills, political judgement, and ability to draft creative legislative solutions with bipartisan appeal. Position will also entail staffing the Senator at relevant hearings and meetings, speech writing, and proactive engagement with constituents and stakeholders. Candidates with ties to Washington state, at least five years of Congressional work experience, and a steadfast and cheerful disposition are strongly preferred.
