Climate Resilience Specialist

Key Role:

Assist the program manager with the research and development of projects in market or corporate programs. Apply expertise in climate resilience, strategic communications, and training and education to support the DoD and other Federal agencies. Provide analytical support for the preparation of policy and outreach support, communications materials, and briefings to leadership on climate resilience initiatives and progress. Support internal DoD and external partner meetings on climate-related topics, assist with the developing of meeting materials, and participate in meetings to capture key discussion points and follow-on actions. Collect, compile, analyze, and manage large, complex data sets to evaluate and track the DoD’s climate resilience progress toward achieving the DoD’s Climate Adaptation End State. Interpret and draw succinct conclusions for data collection and analysis to develop reports, briefings, presentations, fact sheets, social media, and other outreach tools to communicate with various audiences on climate resilience-related topics. Work under minimal supervision and provide guidance for junior team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with translating climate and weather data to inform impact analyses

  • 3+ years of experience as a project manager

  • Experience in leading small- to medium-sized project teams with minimal supervision

  • Ability to manage a schedule and workload and work simultaneously on multiple projects

  • Ability to communicate with technical experts and non-technical audiences

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with data analytics

  • Experience with translating complex science concepts to operational impacts and technological solutions

  • Knowledge of training and education concepts

  • Knowledge of climate challenges facing DoD installations, personnel, and systems

  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
