Democratic Senator is seeking a Deputy Research Director to assist in core policy, communications and rapid response functions. Qualified candidates will be creative and highly organized with extraordinary attention to detail, possess strong research, writing and analytical skills, be capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects in collaboration with various members of a high-impact team, have a clear understanding of digital platforms, and be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Responsibilities include: researching Senate floor and public debates on a variety of issues, creating the substantive backbone for digital content, tracking important performance metrics, performing video research and analysis for social media accounts, vetting, editing, and fact-checking. This job requires creative thinking and ability to understand the complex issues before the Senate. Previous experience in press or research is preferred. Familiarity with well-known research tools like LexisNexis, TVEyes and Snapstream strongly preferred. This is not an entry-level position.
