Job Description

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Create and maintain a campaign timeline, ensuring petitioning, outreach, and fundraising goals are met
  • Work directly with the candidate to shape and adjust campaign strategy

Team Coordination & Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, train, and manage campaign volunteers and interns
  • Delegate tasks for canvassing, phone banking, event staffing, and more

Voter Outreach & Field Organizing

  • Plan and oversee voter engagement efforts including door-knocking, tabling, and visibility events
  • Track engagement metrics and coordinate with data entry volunteers

Fundraising & Budget Oversight

  • Assist with donor outreach, event planning, and campaign finance compliance (CFB filing optional but a plus)
  • Coordinate campaign materials, ads, and digital needs within budget

Communications & Digital Strategy

  • Work with digital volunteers or consultants to schedule content, track performance, and stay on message
  • Support media and press relations as needed

Compliance & Logistics

  • Ensure petitioning documents, signatures, and filings meet all NYC Board of Elections and Campaign Finance Board guidelines
  • Maintain organized digital records and communication systems

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for local politics, equity, and community power
  • Experience with field organizing, grassroots campaigning, or local government a plus
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, NationBuilder, VAN, or Trello/Notion is helpful
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving campaign environment
  • Deep ties to Brooklyn—especially East New York, Brownsville, or surrounding neighborhoods—is a big plus
