Congresswoman Robin Kelly seeks a Scheduler/District Representative in her Chicago District Office. This is a full-time, dual-role position at the heart of a fast-paced and dedicated team, with responsibilities that span both strategic scheduling and constituent casework.

 

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong organizational and communication skills, sound judgment, and a passion for public service. This position reports to the District Deputy Chief of Staff and involves regular interaction with staff in both the district and Washington, D.C. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is requited; Congressional or government experience strongly preferred. A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are required for regular travel.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Scheduling

  1. Develops and manages the Congresswoman’s schedule—both in-district and in Washington, D.C.—in coordination with the District Chief of Staff and other team members.
  2. Prioritizes and vets scheduling requests to align with the Congresswoman’s goals and availability.
  3. Coordinates all logistics for in-district meetings, events, and travel, ensuring thorough preparation and briefing materials.
  4. Serves as the primary point of contact for scheduling requests from constituents, stakeholders, and community organizations.
  5. Works closely with the Communications Director to manage scheduling for press opportunities and media appearances.
  6. Screens background information for potential engagements and provides regular updates to senior staff.
  7. Assists with transportation logistics for official travel and maintains strong working relationships across the team.
  8. Manages a flexible and dynamic schedule that may include occasional evenings and weekends.

 

District Representative

  1. Serves as a liaison between constituents and federal agencies, providing responsive and effective casework support.
  2. Manages and tracks constituent casework in assigned policy or service areas.
  3. Identifies trends and keeps the Constituent Services Director informed on emerging issues.
  4. Maintains detailed casework records and coordinates with outside agencies as needed to resolve constituent concerns.

 Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; Congressional or government experience strongly preferred.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
  5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, and Zoom.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.

This is a full-time position based in Congresswoman Kelly’s Chicago office in Hyde Park. Employees are expected to work from the office with some opportunities to telework.
