The National Mining Association is seeking an individual to develop a comprehensive digital strategy across the association’s multiple platforms, monitor NMA’s multiple social channels, update the channels with scheduled content and create new daily content that is in line with the tone of the channel. The position requires experience with social media monitoring tools (like Hootsuite), and an understanding of the Inside the Beltway social media world. The successful candidate needs to be a proactive self-starter with excellent writing skills.

Specific job duties include:

• Development and dissemination of digital communications collateral

• Development and implementation of the organization’s and specific campaigns’ digital communication strategy

• Collaborating with team from idea stage through writing, design and delivery of all content

• Develop and manage editorial calendar to ensure regular publishing calendar and coverage of important dates, events

• Development and implementation of executive positioning strategies through digital properties

• Provide oversight and direction for the overall maintenance all association digital properties

• Support expansion of and engagement around virtual events

• Stay up to date with new digital technologies and social-media best practices

• Coordination with existing team on conceptualization and design of graphics (images, gifs, short clips) for social media

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience leading, developing and implementing a digital communications strategy

• Comfort with databases, spreadsheets, online survey tools, website maintenance (Wordpress)
