While Basketball Operations runs the league’s on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world’s most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA’s success.
Position Summary:
The Global Fan Marketing Specialist will activate and execute marketing campaigns and programs that connect paid, owned, and earned media strategies and drive business outcomes across markets, including tune-in, viewership, app downloads, subscriptions, merchandising and ticketing sales. The role is part of an exciting and growing Marketing team with the mission to discover, inspire and engage fans across the world.
Major Responsibilities:
Activate 360° integrated fan marketing strategy and plans for global campaigns that incorporate multi-channel platforms such as tv, out-of-home, print ads, email, SEM, social, and paid media
Partner with the brand and creative team to deliver and traffic creative assets to internal and external partners involved in across global campaign work
Implement the look, feel, and voice of the brand across all fan touchpoints, effectively communicating key value props and differentiators to fans
Traffic and manage delivery of all final creative assets across a campaign
Work with the key internal stakeholders and regional marketing teams to best leverage campaigns and ensure consistent end to end customer experience
Execute partnerships and promotions that help broaden awareness, elevate our brand, and acquire fans
Track performance and monitor key metrics that align to business objectives and illustrate the effectiveness of programs
Enable optimization of performance throughout a campaign and by working hand-in-hand with the Data Science and Media teams to provide insights and key learnings, and evolve measurement and reporting practices
Create key project management documents for multiplatform campaigns that will organize and align cross-functional teams
Maintain trackers for annual budgets and calendars for the department
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Minimum 5 years' experience in Marketing executing fan-centric multi-channel digital campaigns and programs
Prior consumer and content marketing experience
Experience working in talent-led business is a plus
Strong organization and project management skills to track campaigns to completion
A solutions-oriented problem solver
Experience working with creative, media, and research agencies
A relationship builder who thrives in a matrixed, collaborative environment
Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across an organization
Exceptional verbal and written communicator who can clearly convey market dynamics, strategies, tactics, rationale and results, to peers, partners, agencies, and executives
Expertise in creating trackers in Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) as well as strong ability to create presentations from a written and visual perspective (Google Slides, Keynote, PPT)
