Job Description
Northeast Democratic Senator seeks Legislative Aide to focus on homeland security and defense portfolio. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, attending constituent meetings, conducting research, drafting memos and talking points, tracking legislation, and working closely with the national security advisor and other legislative assistants, state staff and a robust press operation. This position requires excellent communication, research and writing skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure in an extremely fast-paced environment. Individual must be knowledgeable of current legislative and non-legislative issues, and have a thorough understanding of the legislative process. This is not an entry-level position.
