Senator Merkley seeks a detail-oriented, resourceful problem solver with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to serve as scheduler in his Washington, DC office. This position is responsible for building the daily schedule in DC and in state, responding to constituent requests, and tracking and building the Senator’s briefing book and materials. The scheduler is also responsible for driving the Senator to off-campus events while in DC. This position will report to and work closely with the Director of Scheduling to assist with a broad range of scheduling and executive operations including, but not limited to, managing daily logistics and long-term scheduling requests, maintaining records, assisting with special events and projects while cross collaborating with different departments and staff. The position will also provide administrative and office support services for the Chief of Staff and other duties as assigned. Driving duties may require early mornings, late nights and occasional weekends. The ideal candidate will value quality control and be proactive in helping create and maintain best practices. Previous Senate experience is a plus.
