Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator provides a wide range of support for strategic marketing initiatives and frontline fundraising efforts. Core responsibilities include marketing project flow management, creating and maintaining digital content, draft and distribute external email communication, and update and produce marketing collateral. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and skilled storyteller, a fast learner who can grasp various marketing and fundraising technologies, an effective collaborator with teams across the organization, and an organized project manager who can deliver multiple projects on deadline simultaneously. This position requires attention to detail and strong communication skills in the context of a team with continuously evolving priorities.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) has been operating at nine sites across Chelsea, Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, and South Boston since 1893. Each year, more than 15,000 community members receive access to academic, professional, and social opportunities, and join an alumni network of leaders nationwide. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Creating fundraising web pages, invitations, program booklets, signage, and more for key events in collaboration with frontline fundraising teams
  • Supporting the creation of cornerstone collateral, including monthly eNewsletters, Annual Executive Summary, Digital Annual Report, and Member Impact Highlights
  • Supporting the maintenance and upkeep of BGCB.org and BGCB’s various social media platforms, including updating to reflect latest photos, videos, and upcoming event details
  • Managing updates and print orders for key collateral, including letterhead, one-pagers, brochures, and banners
  • Maintaining organization’s digital archive, ensuring all recent photo and video content is archived in appropriate folders for future use and posterity
  • Proofreading printed and electronic communications produced by team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality, including implementing marketing standards and brand guidelines where needed
  • Tracking marketing expenses, managing invoices and reimbursement process
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and team

  

Position Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience, preferably working in marketing, communications, or similar
  • Graphic design experience and proficiency with technology, including MS Office, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop), MailChimp, Canva, and Wordpress
  • Familiarity with databases, especially Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge a plus
  • Photography and video editing skills for YouTube and social media a plus
  • Excellent writing skills
  • A proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects and delivering on deadline
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work with all BGCB constituencies including Board members, leadership, Club staff members, families, and youth
  • Flexibility to adapt as priorities evolve and deadlines shift
  • A good sense of humor and confidence to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for equity and BGCB’s mission and an interest in current events in Boston and Chelsea affecting the political, social, and economic landscape of our communities
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as event and project deadlines dictate
  • Valid driver’s license required, ability to visit BGCB locations as needed (either via public transportation or Zip Car)

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: M-F 9am- 5pm

Pay Rate: $44K-$55k (Depending on experience and internal equity)
