THE POSITION
The Frameline Distribution & Community Outreach Manager is a new full-time position with Frameline that has two focuses, split equally. Firstly, the role will provide administrative support for the Frameline Distribution program, assisting the Senior Distribution Manager with servicing a catalogue of 250 titles. Some administrative tasks include database management, website updates, responding to inquiries, and creation of enewsletters. Frameline Distribution is the world’s only non-profit LGBTQ+ film distributor and has been running since 1981.
The role also helps connect Frameline to the Bay Area film and LGBTQ+ communities, through outreach to leaders and organizations, and by being present at multiple Bay Area events. The Frameline Distribution & Community Outreach Manager will work closely under the direction of the Communications Manager to execute the Frameline Festival Community Partner program by coordinating co-presentations and ticket giveaways with the 400 non- profit partner relationships Frameline has built throughout the years.
The Frameline Distribution & Community Outreach Manager also has the important task of fostering new relationships within the SF Bay Area and across the country and continues to add value to our growing list of partners.
The role includes attending occasional events outside of work hours, such as filmmaker meet-ups, community events, film screenings, etc.
Reports to: Senior Distribution Manager, Marketing and Communications Manager
Salary: $56,000
Status: Full time year-round, with health benefits
Work Style: Hybrid at office and at home, as determined by need
QUALIFICATIONS
•Knowledge or interest in LGBTQ+ Film/Cinema
•Knowledge of the film and media landscape
•Familiarity with Bay Area LGBTQ+ communities, issues, politics with a strong commitment to diversity and serving underrepresented communities
•Familiarity with event/film festival operations
•Familiarity with current and historical LGBTQ+ film, filmmakers, and industry professionals
•Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
•Detail-oriented and demonstrated attention to accuracy
•Responsive to unpredictable workflow and hours
•Familiarity with hospitality industry helpful
•Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to shifting needs
•Fluency in applications including MS Office, Filemaker Pro and Adobe Creative Suite
•Flexible, creative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Frameline Distribution
•Be the main point of contact for all incoming Frameline Distribution inquiries for bookings and sales. Monitor the distribution@frameline.org account and respond to any other emails forwarded from the info@frameline.org account.
•General media asset management
•Manage delivery of films across platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, Amazon, Shopify, etc.)
•When necessary, execute in-house DVD/Blu-ray fulfillment for educational purchases.
•Create clips/trailers/ bonus content for new releases and department programs
•Monitor the Youth in Motion email and respond. Youth in Motion is Frameline’s education program.
•Write 1-2 monthly Youth in Motion eblast.
•Do direct outreach and build partnerships with LGBTQ+ youth organizations and schools to use the Youth in Motion content and resources.
•Write bi-monthly educational eblasts to college professors/academics/librarians featuring two or three titles by theme in collaboration with Senior Distribution Manager.
•Social media - create videos, reels, and posts, for distribution titles, Youth in Motion, andVoices. Video editing, graphic, and web design work across Frameline as needed.
Community Outreach
• Creating and fostering long-term community partnerships for the organization and including senior staff in this effort
• Oversee Frameline’s Community Partner program by researching, soliciting and confirming co- presenters for all June Festival screenings and maintaining the database.
• In the lead-up to June, conduct targeted outreach to partner organizations and coordinate distribution of promotional materials in the San Francisco Bay Area and other cities throughout the U.S.
• Run the Frameline Media Partners program - with fulfillment of the media organization’s Frameline deliverables. Assistance on contracting will come from Sponsor team.Communicate with them often so they feel included in Frameline’s decision making.
• Attend community events year-round on behalf of Frameline. Schedule senior staff to attend events.
• Coordinate Frameline’s Community Ticket Giveaway program
• Conducting research to support marketing and outreach efforts
• Assist Communications Manager with Frameline social media channel (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok etc.) content, basic website updates, blog content and maintenance
• Aiding in administrative duties
• Attend scheduled Festival meetings and remain on-call during major events
