Deputy Communications Director

Overview: The Deputy Communications Director is a supervisory position that helps lead the planning and execution of the DSCC’s communications strategies and manage the communications department’s press staff and workflow.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with the communications director to build and execute communications plans.
  • Manage the workflow and press staff of the communications department.
  • Work across departments to execute the DSCC’s overall communications strategies.
  • Work with members of the press to shape media coverage, including serving as on the record spokesperson.
  • Write, edit and approve both external and internal communications materials.
  • Support the communications work of the DSCC Chair and Vice Chairs.
  • Work with partner organizations, surrogates and principals, on communications needs relating to Senate races.
This position is based in DC. This position is expected to work out of the DSCC office located on Capitol Hill.
