POSITION SUMMARY 

We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Events and Content Producer to join the NMHC team as we launch a new, cutting-edge multifamily tech center. As a core member of the tech center team, you will have a pivotal role in the planning and execution of prominent industry conferences and events—notably the OPTECH Conference & Expo, the multifamily industry’s premier tech conference attended by industry executives and technology leaders. In addition, you will lead the development and production of a rich, interactive content strategy, ensuring our programming remains distinctive, relevant, and aligned with industry advocacy priorities, both in-person and online. In this role, you will work closely with senior multifamily executives, technology and innovation leaders, and other strategic partners to showcase the richness and diversity of our membership and knowledge base, further solidifying our position as leaders in the real estate tech space.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Development and Program Management

Content Strategy Development

  •  Advise on the development of a robust content strategy that aligns with our strategic plan and positions NMHC as a thought leader in technology and emerging technologies for the rental housing industry.
  • Identify key themes, topics, and channels for effective content distribution.

Content Creation and Curation

  • Lead the creation and curation of high-quality content, collaborating with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), members, and external partners.
  • Produce compelling content in a variety of formats (e.g., articles, whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, videos, etc.) that resonate with the target audience.

Calendar Management

  • Organize content calendars, ensuring the schedule allows for ample production, review, and promotion.

Measurement and Optimization

  •  Develop KPIs and metrics to track content and program performance.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize strategy and maximize impact.

 OPTECH Conference and Event Support

 Conference Planning

  • Assist with the development of the conference agendas, educational sessions, and networking opportunities for the OPTECH Conference & Expo and other potential Tech Center events.
  • Coordinate with NMHC SMEs and third-party partners to identify engaging topics and speakers, ensuring alignment with members’ needs, advocacy priorities, and research agendas.

 Logistics and Coordination

  • Secure session speakers/moderators and serve as a point of contact for speaker inquiries.
  • Serve as the staff liaison for any relevant planning committees.
  • Work with the meetings and sponsorship/exhibits teams to ensure programming fits hotel parameters and supports a high-quality attendee and participant experience. 

Marketing and Evaluation

  • Collaborate on marketing and communications strategies to support event attendance and participation.
  • Assess performance and attendee satisfaction to ensure the event exceeds attendee expectations and achieves desired outcomes.

 Program Development

  • Conceptualize, plan, and deliver innovative and engaging programs, events, and initiatives (e.g., webinars, workshops, networking events) showcasing the impact of technology on the rental housing industry.
  • Identify new opportunities for interactive programs and experiential learning that can add value to membership in and engagement with the tech center.
  • Ensure programs reflect the NMHC’s tech advocacy, research, and educational priorities and are relevant for target audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, external partners, and members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers and thought leaders in property technology and real estate sectors.
  • Create opportunities for members, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders to engage with peers and partners, as well as tech center and NMHC staff and leadership.

 Public Awareness and Thought Leadership

  • Contribute to the development of additional member-facing and public relations programs and initiatives.
  • Help raise awareness of the tech center and NMHC’s thought leadership in strategic topic areas related to technology and innovation.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. or B.S. required. Preference for a degree in marketing, business, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  •  Minimum of 5 years of experience in content strategy, events management, or related role and/or relevant experience in technology or real estate industries.
  • Highly organized with strong project management abilities and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can adapt to a variety of audiences and formats.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and the ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to both contribute meaningfully to a team as well as work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with data and analysis to help drive content as well as performance.
  • Experience with digital and social media platforms as well as marketing techniques and strategies.
  • Strong interest in technology, innovation, rental housing, and real estate.

Other Requirements

  • Travel to events and NMHC HQ is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), especially Teams.
  • High level of comfort creating spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, etc.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and systems to manage membership database, projects, events, etc.
