Description:

Reporting to the Director, International Programs, the Senior Manager for International Programs- RMS is primarily responsible for supporting the international pursuits of the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Business Area within Lockheed Martin through defense trade, international participation and planning with the United States Government. This position will require frequent interaction with U.S. Government customers and stakeholders, particularly those agencies and officials involved in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) processes at the Department of Defense and the Department of State. This role will require close collaboration with colleagues in LMGA, Global Business Development and Strategy (GBDS), RMS and other corporate functions to ensure consistency in LM’s messaging and engagement, as well to garner advocacy with U.S. agencies that support international security cooperation, defense exports and controlled trade. This position must work closely with and build strong relationships with the U.S. Government as well as internal functions and is best suited for a candidate with experience supporting strategic and operational government affairs initiatives, as well as someone who possesses knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s international program priorities and supply chain issues. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written communication and presentation development skills with proven experience supporting senior level leaders, demonstrate efficient and effective planning and organizational skills and an extraordinary attention to detail team oriented, mission-focused and able to effectively communicate with LM Executives and Senior Leaders within the U.S. Government.

The position is based in Crystal City, VA. Approximately 20% Travel Required.

Basic Qualifications:


1. 10+ years of relevant professional experience
2. Previous Navy civilian or active duty military experience
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in U.S. Government defense trade, international industrial participation, and/or supply chain related issues, including detailed knowledge of FMS process and agencies.
4. Prior experience interacting with U.S. Government stakeholders, including those that support international security cooperation (including but not limited to: Department of State, Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy (OSD(P)), Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the National Security Council and Service Implementing Agencies).
5. Prior experience supporting and presenting to executives and Senior Leaders within the U.S. Government.
6. Understanding of U.S. national security decision-making and interagency process
7. Active Secret Security Clearance required

Desired Skills:


1. Prior experience and/or familiarity working with LM international business priorities, external stakeholders, and the FMS process.
2. Support executive engagement with senior U.S. Government officials on programs and topics within the RMS portfolio.
3. Comprehension of complex technologies and engineering challenges affecting international defense programs.
4. Master’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Security Clearance Statement:

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely:

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

9x80 every other Friday off
