Republican opposition research and intelligence firm is hiring a Senior Associate to join its growing research team.

At our boutique firm, we gather and analyze critical information to optimize the public engagement and communications strategies of our clients throughout the country. Our goal is to leverage the latest technological tools, political insights, and client-first approach to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders on any topic, whenever they need it.

As a Senior Associate, you will be a core component of our operations and work directly with our firm’s partners and fellow research associates. This role will assist our team with the acquisition and critical analysis of information pertaining to political and public affairs initiatives within the United States, as well as other projects as needed.

The ideal applicant should demonstrate strong attention to detail, a strong work ethic, discretion, and good written and oral communications skills. Preferably the applicant will also have worked at least one or two campaign cycles over the past several years.

This is a full-time position, located in our Washington, D.C. office in the Navy Yard neighborhood. We utilize a hybrid work schedule - a combination of in-office and work-from-home each week. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the acquisition and analysis of publicly-available information gathered through news, online media, social media, and government authorities.
  • Producing targeted and comprehensive opposition research deliverables on candidates in competitive races at the state level.
  • Compiling information from legislative votes, news services, public records, and research databases.
  • Review and analyze relevant legislation and policy-implementation at the municipal, state, and federal level.
  • Coordinate communication among various stakeholders, including firm partners and clients, regarding projects and insights.
  • Assist in the drafting of written materials, including but not limited to correspondence with federal, state, and local government officials, briefing documents, 1-pagers, and other collaterals.
  • Copy-edit firm materials and collateral, as needed.
  • Assisting and training less experienced researchers.
  • Travel in support of information acquisition and analysis operations, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Political knowledge and background to understand and explain significance of events and findings.
  • Knowledge of Nexis, campaign finance databases, federal and state-level vote analysis, statistical data gathering, and primary source materials
  • Functional competence with Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated writing ability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one full cycle of experience in political research on a campaign, committee, or experience in research in a closely related field
