Summary
Serves as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative (AUSTR) For Africa. Primary responsibility is to lead negotiations, develop, implement and monitor U.S. trade agreements in sub-Saharan Africa, and oversee the administration and operation of these agreements.

Help
As an Assistant U. S. Trade Representative for Africa, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Serve as Assistant U. S. Trade Representative for Sub-Saharan Africa trade issues.
Advise the U. S. Trade Representative and Deputies on policies and strategies which the U.S. should adopt on issues relating to Sub-Saharan Africa.
Chair interagency committees responsible for establishing, analyzing and administering U. S. Government trade policy and investment toward Sub-Saharan.
Coordinate initiatives to encourage private sector investments in Sub-Saharan Africa trade matters.
