Job Description
The press intern will work closely with the communications team to develop social media graphics, edit videos, take photos, write social media copy, and complete other short and long-form writing. The press internship position duties include aspects of the legislative internship position such as answering constituent phone calls, managing tours, and handling incoming mail. Strong applicants will be excellent writers, team players, and open to learning about the functions of press shops in Congress. Previous experience in social media management, Canva, Adobe Suites, and photography is not required, as this internship is designed to provide training and learning of communications in a Congressional office.
This position is paid. Internships run through the fall, spring, and summer semesters and are open to undergrad, law, or graduate students. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.
