POSITION OVERVIEW:
You will build and scale a holistic internal communications strategy to inform, engage, and inspire all Chamber employees to work on behalf of our members and fulfill our Shared Purpose. You will also help build and support a bench of Chamber executives to effectively communicate the Chamber’s mission and message to internal and external audiences. As a trusted adviser to leadership, you will work with partners across the organization to develop communication plans and execute tactics that foster the Chamber’s culture and convey the organization’s key business objectives, policies and programs, and transformational initiatives.
As a critical role in the Chamber’s Communication Division, you will work closely with partners across the executive team, including the chief human resources officer and the chief operating officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Define and execute an internal communications strategy.
  • Plan and activate tactics that deliver desired outcomes around employee engagement and ensure that messaging is integrated across the Chamber.
  • Help lead communication strategies for Chamber executives, identifying, pitching, and supporting them for external speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Effectively partner with senior leadership, department heads, and other executive communications colleagues to develop content and manage the organization-wide rollout of new initiatives and policy priorities.
  • Work with Human Resources to foster the employee work experience and engagement and strengthen Chamber culture through strategic touchpoints.
  • Increase employee understanding at the grassroots level about the Chamber’s priorities, management decisions, achievements, and challenges.
  • Work with division colleagues to write, edit, and produce a wide range of communications (e.g., organization-wide announcements, statements, talking points, and reports) and deliver them across various channels, including Town Halls, newsletters, podcasts, and intranet posts.
  • Provide communications support to operational groups at the Chamber (e.g., Talent Solutions, Building Operations, and IT) to effectively communicate changes to the employee work experience.
  • Collaborate with media, public relations, and social media colleagues to ensure full alignment of internal and external messaging.
  • Provide strategic communications expertise and counsel to executives.
  • Support Talent Solutions’ efforts to obtain employee feedback to guide communication decisions.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience developing and implementing a variety of internal communications programs and strategies, from personnel and organizational transformation to business goals and employee engagement to multiple internal audiences under high-pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex to different writing styles.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume of communication initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience working with executives and providing communications support, presentation coaching and training, and messaging guidance.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to flawless execution.
  • A growth and learning mindset characterized by an openness to challenging assumptions at the organizational and personal levels.
  • Demonstrated organizational and business savvy, with proven ability to interact and influence at all levels.
  • Strong techniques around guiding corporate messaging with diplomacy and sensitivity for a range of audiences.
  • Highly collaborative and a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing live and virtual events is strongly preferred.
