Summary

This is a Pathways Recent Graduate position. The Recent Graduate (RG) will receive on-the-job training as required to support the assignment area. The incumbent will serve as a journeyman level policy analyst, providing expert advice and assistance on a diverse array of policy issues, building a supporting rationale and providing the analytic basis for major OMB and/or Presidential policy decisions.


Duties

As a Program Examiner (Recent Graduate), GS-0301-9, your typical work assignments may include the following:


Reviewing and analyzing agency submissions, studies, research materials, and other information related to assigned areas. Synthesizing highly complex and voluminous materials.

Assisting in developing and recommending strategies for the approaches to improvement in the value and effectiveness of management systems, field administration, program policies and operations, midrange and strategic planning, and program evaluation.

Determining the most efficient and cost-effective methods of management and program delivery services as well as an assessment of performance and results.

Developing and analyzing policy issues, highlighting alternative approaches that might be taken to resolve problems, and making and defending recommendations.
